The Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop (CEW) is the new name for what was formerly known as the Aquatic Toxicity Workshop (ATW). The ATW was for 41 years the top aquatic toxicology meeting in Canada. The reason for the name change was to better reflect the recently expanded scope of the workshop. The CEW no longer focuses exclusively on aquatic toxicology issues (as ATW mostly did), but now also covers terrestrial/wildlife toxicology, risk assessment, contaminated site assessment and remediation, Northern contaminant issues and climate change, links between environment and human health, etc., thus appealing to a broader demographic (a complete list of session topics for the 2015 CEW meeting can be found at SESSIONS
The CEW is now Canada’s premier annual scientific meeting on aquatic and other ecotoxicology topics (no other national conference covers this scope). The CEW 2015 meeting will provide the forum for both formal and informal exchanges of information, ideas and knowledge among scientists from industry, consulting, government, universities, colleges, and the public. The workshop, which we predict will attract approx. 350 participants, provides a forum to present and discuss a variety of subjects related to ecotoxicology with a focus on Canadian environmental issues and challenges, method and technology development, emerging contaminants and concerns, and regulatory issues and programs.
By supporting the 42nd Annual CEW, your organization will have a great opportunity to make your organization more visible, both on site during the four days of the event, as well as on the CEW website, while contributing actively to making this event a success.
